Understand more about leaving a gift in your will
There are a few types of gifts that you can leave in your will.
Pecuniary gift - A cash gift, this is a gift of a set sum of money.
Residuary gift - What is left of the assets to share out to your residuary beneficiaries after debts, liabilities, funeral expenses,Inheritance Tax and legacies have been paid. This can be the total amount that remains or a % of it.
Specific gift - A specific item, such as a house, car or jewellery.
There are several ways you can write your will, and it’s usually best to get advice from a legal professional who can support you to create your will.
