Three Peaks Challengers smash their target

Congratulations to our October Three Peaks Challengers!

Eleven fantastic fundraisers took part in our October Three Peaks Challenge over the weekend.

The team beat the 24 hour challenge, finishing all three mountains in just over 22 hours!

They faced testing weather conditions but they battled through the wind and rain to make it to the top of Ben Nevis (1,344m), Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1,085m).

Paul Hopper tackled the peak with his colleagues from Wilkins Kennedy. He told us:

Having never previously attempted to hike up any hills or mountains, the prospect of reaching the highest summits in England, Wales and Scotland in under 24 hours was one that I thought would challenge my mind and body in every sense and so it proved!

When we set ourselves the goal of completing the 3 Peak Challenge we wanted to ensure that our efforts were rewarded by raising funds for Naomi House & Jacksplace. Many of us have had the privilege of visiting the hospices to witness the unbelievable care and support the charity provides.  Indeed some of our colleagues and their families have benefited first-hand from the care afforded by Naomi House & Jacksplace.  It was a real privilege to be able to be able to raise funds for the charity against the backdrop of us all achieving something special on the mountains.

So far, the team has raised an incredible £10,441 for our hospices! That's enough to fund a weeks nursing care for 8 children staying at Naomi House!

Nicole Davies, Events Fundraiser for Naomi House & Jacksplace said:

The team were truly fantastic! They completed the challenge in a record-breaking time for the charity and have raised a brilliant amount of much-needed funds for our hospices, thank you very much!
