Three Peaks Challenge April 2018
On Friday 6th April, the team of 8, led by SVL Adventures, set off to tackle Ben Nevis (1,344m), Snowdon (1,085m) and Scafell Pike (978m) in 24 hours.
They were faced with extremely snowy conditions which only made it tougher, but in turn installed a greater sense of team comaraderie when they made it to the top of each summit as a team. Collectively the team raised a staggering £4,800, which could help fund 28 days of nursing care to the children and young people at Naomi House & Jacksplace.
One of the walkers, Alan, had this to say:
I chose to support Naomi House because my wife and I wanted to give to a local cause, and we feel that supporting young people and their families facing life limiting conditions is really important. When we saw the 3 peaks challenge advertised, this also ppealed to me as I felt it was a great personal challenge, before I get too old to manage it.
I enjoyed every moment of the challenge. We had very snowy conditions which made it tougher than usual, but this just added to the sense of achievement when we managed to overcome this. Our guide Simon took good care to keep us safe, and we had a great team spirit which helped to keep us going. I didn't know anyone else before we started, but at the end I felt proud to have been part of a close-knit team which finished the challenge, and raised a lot of money for a great cause.
All spots on our August Three Peaks Challenge have unfortunately sold out, but keep an eye on our Events page for any future events you may want to get involved in!
