Mattel UK Dress Up Day
Well-known toy manufacturer and entertainment company, Mattel UK Ltd, based in Maidenhead, Berkshire, have chosen Naomi House & Jacksplace as their charity of the year for the 2020! Our new charity partners have set themselves the ambitious fundraising target of £10,000! We are so grateful that even in these challenging times, the amazing staff at Mattel are determined to support our hospices.
For their very first fundraising venture, they chose to do a virtual dress-up day. Everyone taking part rummaged around in their wardrobes and found an amazing range of outfits, from fancy dress to wedding dresses! They had a lot of fun donning their costumes on a Zoom video call together, which included Batman, Wonder Woman and Maverick from Top Gun!They set up a JustGiving fundraising page with a suggested donation of £2 per person and raised £481 for Naomi House & Jacksplace!
Keisha John, Customer Services Representative and Charity Committee member at Mattel, said:
“We are delighted to be supporting Naomi House & Jacksplace this year. It's great to be able to do our bit in supporting life limited and life threatened children and young adults, especially in these uncertain times. To start our fundraising, we held a dress up day to get people out of their comfy, 'working from home' clothes. It was such a lot of fun with several dressing up as Tom Cruise’s ‘Maverick’ and another colleague who took the opportunity to put on her wedding dress!”
A huge thank you to the team at Mattel! We look forward to hearing about your next fundraising ventures!
