Make your Will Fortnight raises over £15,000!

Our annual ‘Make your Will Fortnight’ campaign has been a huge success!

Each year, participating solicitors across the south waive their Will writing fee in favour of clients making a donation to our hospices.

The campaign began on 30th October 2017 with 15 firms on board, from as north as Reading, to as south at the Isle of Wight.

More than 100 appointments were booked during the fortnight, raising an incredible £15,684 for Naomi House & Jacksplace!

Supporters were quick to respond with positive feedback too, commenting:

“I did this last year. Excellent service. Well done to all those involved.”

“Such a brilliant charity & solicitor booked!”

“We have been meaning to do ours for the last few years and still not done it! Must get on it!”

Emily Payne from Dickins Hopgood Chidley in Hungerford, Berkshire said:

We have made some good contacts and have been instructed on some powers of attorney following on from the Wills. I have also been contacted by clients we met in previous years’ campaigns to renew their Wills or for other matters, so it’s worthwhile for us as a business as well as doing a good turn.

Head of Fundraising, Paul Morgan, added:

The support from the community has been outstanding. Making a Will is something many of us say “we’ll do it another day” but the campaign not only serves as an important reminder to get it done, it offers the opportunity for anyone to have a professional Will written for a small donation to our charity. None of this would be possible without the fantastic support from our participating solicitors. We’re very grateful to them for supporting our Make your Will Fortnight campaign and giving up their time to support our hospices.

The money raised from this year’s campaign is enough to fund a day’s nursing care for 94 children or young people receiving respite at our hospices.

The total amount raised was revealed to solicitors at a special thank you reception, held at the hospice on Friday 26th January.

Mark Smith, Cheif Executive of Naomi House & Jacksplace, also presented each solicitor with a thank you certificate.
