Olly is our Marathon Champ!
Olly Becket from Winchester traveled to Gloucester to run their annual marathon at the weekend (Sunday 6th August).
Almost 2,000 participants ran the 26.2 mile route, which takes runners past iconic and picturesque sites like Gloucester Cathedral, the docks and Gloucester Quays.
Olly completed the marathon in 4 hours and 39 minutes and was met at the finish line by his family.
He told us:
It was a great day! I chose to support Naomi House because I think it's an amazing local charity. We have a 2-year-old daughter and a baby on the way. It's great to know that you are here to support families in their time of need.
So far, Olly has raised just over £3,000 for our hospices!
Events Fundraiser for Naomi House & Jacksplace, Nicole Davies added:
What Olly has achieved is just fantastic! To not only run a full marathon but to raise more than £3,000 for our hospices is just brilliant. The money he’s raised could fund an entire months nursing care for a child staying at Naomi House and will help us to continue providing expert hospice care to local life-limited and life-threatened children, young people and their families from across central southern England. We’re so grateful for his support.
