Super Dad's 100 mile cycle challenge in memory of son Teddy.

Super Dad, Ben Dawkins and his friend Russ Mockford complete a 100 mile cycle challenge.

Ride for Teddy.

The cycle challenge saw them set off from a wet and windy Winchester on Friday 16th September and arrive in the South Downs after 12 hours and 50 minutes of pure pedal power!

Ben told us upon completing the challenge:

We feel elated, emotional but totally thrilled!

Ben's son, Teddy, spent his final days at Naomi House Children's Hospice after a short battle with cancer. He passed away just days after his first birthday.

Ben, said:

This year has been the hardest of our lives, losing Teddy ripped us apart but we are strong good people and would always help others where we can. With Naomi House their kindness and continuing support helped us to cope with losing our beautiful little boy.
There is nothing harder for a parent than to lose their baby ... Nothing. But it happens and it's only then that you realize how important we have such places as Naomi House. We will continue to support them and their amazing staff as so they can help others at the most difficult time of their lives.

So far, Ben and Russ have raised over £4,200 following their challenge, enough to fund a long weekend's respite stay for two children.

If you would like to sponsor them, please visit their Virgin Money Giving page.

A huge well done to you both from us all at Naomi House & Jacksplace!
