Team Naomi compete in charity netball tournament!
On Monday 25th March, teams from Naomi House & Jacksplace, Winchester University netball team and Winchester University cricket team went head to head in a charity tournament to raise money for the hospice charity.
Five teams competed in a series of seven minute matches in a ‘point system’ tournament, ending with the Winchester University 1st Netball team being crowned the ultimate champions. Naomi House & Jacksplace ended up coming last, only scoring three goals whilst conceding 19! Nevertheless, the charity team’s spirits remained high, cheering on the other teams from the side line.
Charlotte Patrick, Events Fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace, took part in the tournament. She said:
“We may not have had age or ability on our side, but we certainly had a great time taking part. It was fantastic to be part of such a well organised event and we are so grateful to everyone for playing to support Naomi House & Jacksplace. Thank you to Abi and Taite from the University of Winchester for hosting the event.”
Taite and Abi, members of the university netball team, said:
“Naomi House & Jacksplace are such a heart-warming charity; everyone we’ve met from the charity has been so lovely, and seeing all the hard work that goes into supporting children and their families lives has been uplifting. We had so much fun organising the netball tournament and had lots of laughs, whilst raising vital funds for the hospices. We can't wait for the opportunity to work with them again!”
Team Naomi are now in training to score a few more goals at the next re-match!
