Hampshire Sea Scouts row for Naomi House & Jacksplace!

Row, row, row your boat… fast down the River Thames!

Hampshire Sea Scouts

Hampshire Sea Scouts Alex Hamel, Megan Hance, Oscar Davis, Michael Preston and Jessica Griffiths, all aged between 13 and 14, entered The Great River Race to raise money for Naomi House & Jacksplace.

We appreciate the fact that we are all healthy and able to take part in a race like this, and would like to help those children who are not as fortunate as us.

The event on the Saturday 3rd September, saw them compete against 324 other teams as they all raced 21.6 miles up the River Thames.

They trained hard on the River Hamble leading up to the event and were the 3rd team aged under 16 years to finish!

They finished the race in a time of 3 hours and 22 minutes and said:

It was better than we hoped for, considering the fact that the majority of the boats were rowed by adults!

So far the team have smashed their £500 target and raised £781 for our hospices.
