Our Roses Tradition
Every year, on or around Midsummer's Day, Naomi House & Jacksplace gives 12 red roses as peppercorn rent to Naomi and David Cornelius-Reid. Read more about this long-standing tradition.
We’ve teamed up with a local blacksmith who will be creating handmade metal roses for you to treasure, gift to a friend, or have in memory of a loved one.
Every year, on or around Midsummer's Day, Naomi House & Jacksplace give 12 red roses as peppercorn rent to Naomi and David Cornelius-Reid. This beautiful tradition has a long history, originating before Naomi House first opened in 1997.
This year to honour this tradition, we’ve teamed up with a local blacksmith who will be creating handmade metal roses, for you to treasure, gift to a friend or have in memory of a loved one.
There are 4 wonderful designs for you to choose from, see below.
Before taking the rose home to enjoy, it will be part of a beautiful display in the Winchester Cathedral Refectory Garden between 7-15th September. You will be able to collect your rose from the 18th September from various locations. Locations and times will be emailed to you at a later date.
By donating to our Garden of Roses campaign you can get your very own rose. There is a suggested donation of £50 for painted and £40 for unpainted. Select below which style of rose you would prefer. The painted options are limited editions, to avoid disappointment donate now to get involved.

Each handmade rose takes around 30 minutes to make and more to paint.
We suggest the following donation amounts:
£50- Painted Rose
£40- Unpainted Rose
