Make Your Will 2020
7th Sept - 27th Nov

A solicitor will prepare a new Will or update your existing Will, in return for a suggested donation to Naomi House & Jacksplace.

Whether you’ve moved house, got married, divorced, retired, had a new baby or become grandparents, it’s essential to make provisions for your loved ones, by creating a professionally written Will. This autumn, we’re offering you a great opportunity to do just that, giving you peace of mind whilst helping your local hospices care for seriously ill children, young adults and their families.

If you book an appointment between Monday 7th September and Friday 27th November with one of our participating solicitors, they will write or amend a basic Will for you and rather than paying them for their services, they will ask you to make a suggested donation to Naomi House & Jacksplace of £130+ for a basic Will, or £200+ for a joint or mirror Will.

This year, we have also adapted our popular Make Your Will scheme to make it more flexible, by extending the length of the campaign and offering both virtual and face to face appointments, making it even easier for you to access, recognising the difficult times we find ourselves in.

Each solicitor will offer appointments which can take place either virtually via video or in person, depending on their working environment. They will be working within government guidelines at the time, to ensure the safety of their clients and their own staff.

How it works:

  • Simply call the solicitor of your choice, between the dates of 7th September and 27th November, to book an initial appointment. The appointment itself doesn’t need to be within those dates.
  • At the initial appointment, you will explain what you want i.e. what assets you have and who you want to benefit, and the solicitor will tell you if this can be done as a basic or standard Will. The solicitor will then agree with you the donation to be made to Naomi House & Jacksplace.  If your Will is not basic of stand e.g. involves tax or other specialised legal advice, the solicitor will tell you and agree the donation before going ahead.
  • If what you need requires specialist advice that cannot be included under the scheme, the solicitor will advise you of this and give you a separate price for that work. All participating solicitors reserve the right to charge you a fee if your Will is not basic or standard.

There is no obligation to include Naomi House & Jacksplace in your Will, but if you do choose to leave a gift to the hospices, it will make a huge difference to the seriously ill children, young adults and families in our care. If you'd like to talk to a member of our team about leaving a gift in your Will, please call: 01962 760060 or email: hello@naomihouse.org.uk. Thank you.
