Nurse bakes forest-themed cake in celebration of holiday lodge

Forest themed cake

Our wonderful nurse and Clinical Team Leader, Hayley, recently went the extra mile for one of our families…

On 9th February 2024, we opened an accessible holiday lodge at Hoburne Bashley Holiday Park, in the New Forest, called ‘Naomi House in the Forest’. To celebrate the opening of the lodge and new offering to our families, Nurse Hayley baked a very special, forest-themed cake for the first family that officially stayed in the lodge.

The yummy cake was chocolate with buttercream icing, plus beautiful fondant decorations, featuring mini toadstools and bees, leaves, flowers and grass, and Naomi House’s logo on the top. The thoughtful and carefully crafted decorations really complemented the setting of the lodge in New Forest.

Hayley said this about her incredible creation:

After looking up cake designs online, I went with a particular forest-themed one I found. I usually bake cakes for my grandchildren’s birthdays, so I’ve had a bit of practice, but I’ve never done anything on this scale before.

The cake took over six hours to make (plus the cleaning up!) It’s not perfect but it’s made with love. I really hope the family enjoyed it as a special treat on their holiday.
