Volkswagen Show raises thousands for hospices

Field of cars

The Endless Summer VW Show in Basingstoke has supported Naomi House & Jacksplace since commencing six years ago. All proceeds from the show are kindly donated to our hospices, and to date, the show has raised a phenomenal £21,000 for our hospices.

Each year, a team of Volkswagen enthusiasts get together at the War Memorial Park in Basingstoke to show off their Volkswagen cars and campers, old and new, at the Endless Summer VW Show. This year’s show didn’t disappoint, featuring live music from ‘So Close’ and ‘Sugarman Sam’, performances from Basingstoke Academy of Dance, and of course some amazing Volkswagens!

Naomi House & Jacksplace setup a stall at the show, to raise vital awareness of our hospices, which featured a ‘Water or Wine’ raffle, a ‘Teddy Bear Tombola’, and our remote control car painting, which is one of the activities our Play Team do with the children and young adults to create wonderful masterpieces and keepsakes.

We are overwhelmed from the support from everyone at the show. We were very tired after the event, but one day of chaos for us is nothing compared to the children and parents that use the hospices. The day was so much bigger than we anticipated, which shows in the amount we've raised. Endless has now raised over £21,000 for Naomi House & Jacksplace and we can't wait to raise even more next year to support the incredible work the staff do, and all the children and parents that use the charity.

Volkswagens on show varied from classic VW campervans, to new and old VW Beetles, and an impressive selection of Golf’s, Polo’s and Caddy’s. As well as cars there was an array of stalls to keep everyone fed, watered and happy. ‘Back to the Lab’, the official merchandise sponsor of the Endless Summer Show, were there selling this year’s charity t-shirts; ‘Pop and Grind’ were providing coffees to the crowd; and ‘Dinky Dubz’ were there with their mini campervan rides. Many of the stalls, such as ‘Tumble Tots’ (Basingstoke), were also there, raising money for our hospices with their activities.

We’d like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the Endless Summer VW Show team for their incredible continued support – we couldn’t do what we do without the support of wonderful bunches of people like you, so thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We can’t wait to join you again next year!
