120 cyclists completed Tour of Silchester, a brand new addition to the Hampshire Tour Series, in support of Naomi House & Jacksplace.

The Hampshire Tour Series cycling events are organised by cyclists for cyclists, to come together and raise vital funds and awareness for Naomi House & Jacksplace.

The historic site of Silchester, which features the remains of a Roman settlement and amphitheatre, lends its name for this scenic cycling route. It is a 30 - 50 mile route that is based in Yateley, taking the riders West, skirting the Berkshire border as it winds through a network of rolling, peaceful country roads out to Silchester, before heading for home.

Liam Keynes, Organiser of the Hampshire Tour Series, spoke to us about the event:

The day went really well with some spots of rain in the morning, but this didn’t deter a good turnout of about 120 riders! It was great to have our new event, the Tour of Silchester, up and running. The day was fantastic, with the cycling community coming together, and we loved seeing some familiar and new faces joining us. We introduced our new sponsorship with Handsling Bikes, which will help increase our fundraising for Naomi House & Jacksplace.

— Liam Keynes, Event Organiser, Hampshire Tour Series

The Hampshire Tour Series features three cycling events, including Tour of Silchester, Tour of the Worthys and Tour of the Candovers. In 2023, the series raised over £3,600 for our charity.

Liam Keynes also added:

Now for the exciting part... we’re proud to announce that with everyone's efforts, we were able to donate £3,560 to our charity partners, Naomi House & Jacksplace! A huge amount for a worthy cause, so thank you to everyone for doing your bit.

Tash Haji, Senior Fundraiser at Naomi House & Jacksplace, said:

We are forever grateful for the continued support of our local community, as we truly could not support our children, young adults and their families without supporters like this. Thank you so much to everyone involved.
