The Manydown Maize Maze
10/07/2010Situated in the beautiful Hampshire countryside, this maze is a must visit for families this summer. The maze is themed on the 'Battle of Britain' and it looks to be full of surprises. We are situated on the site of the famous Manydown Farm Shop, chocked full of treats. We also have other activities on the site including, farm animals to see and great games for the family. So come on down and join in the a-maizing fun! There will be a collection at the end of the maze in support of Naomi House children’s hospice. The Maize MazeMazes date back thousands of years however, it has only been in the last 200 years that people have begun to see them as the fun puzzles that we know today. Mazes made out of corn are a recent invention, with the first being created in America in 1993. It was in the shape of a dinosaur to cheer up the mid westerners after devastating floods. The idea caught on and we at Manydown are excited to be introducing the Hampshire countryside to the incredible fun that can be had in getting lost! This year we decided it would be fantastic to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain so we decided that the maze should be... in the shape of a spitfire! Come down and enjoy getting lost with us!RefreshmentsAt the maze we will have cold drinks, tea, coffee as well as delicious ice cream from a local ice creamery all served by our friendly staff with a smile.BBQWhy not taste some of our locally produced meat on the BBQ - served from 12.00pm - 2.00pm dailyThe Farm ShopWe are located on the site of Manydown Farm shop, which has an excellent butchery, as well as freshly baked bread, cheese and all sorts of other goodies. Do pop in after you have visited the maze to pick up some treats for your summer barbecue.Farm AnimalsCome and see all your old favorites in the walk around animal section... take a peek at chickens and our famous climbing goats.Other ActivitiesThere are many other games and activities to keep you busy including pedal go karts, mini ride on tractors and our giant sand pit and climbing frame. For further details please contact01256 460068www.manydownmaze.co.uk
