Help for Families

Care and support for good days, difficult days and last days.

Caring for a child or young person suffering from a life-limiting condition is often a 24-hour job, and can be physically, emotionally and financially demanding for families.

In addition to caring for children and young people with life-limiting conditions, Naomi House also offers support to the immediate family in order to help to relieve them of some of the pressures of being a carer, as well as a parent.

All of our care services are offered from either the hospices themselves or from our community service. They are available free of charge 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. These services include:

- Respite care
- End of life care
- Family and sibling support
- Bereavement care
- Hospice at home services

We have many facilities available to enhance a child or young persons stay with us, such as therapies, activities and play areas, our hydrotherapy pool, multi-sensory rooms and full support during the transition from children’s to adult services.

There are also further opportunities for external counselling and support (at an additional cost). These can be found by visiting the Counselling Directory website.

We are supported by Together For Short Lives who have a free helpline, 0808 8088 100, which is open from 7am until midnight, seven days a week. They also have a downloadable Family Companion which can offer more guidance on support available to you.

If you are the parent of a child or young person with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and would like to talk to us, please contact our Care Team on 01962 760555, for an informal chat about how we may be able to help your family.
