Key responsibilities:

We're looking for a Trainee Carer to join our friendly, professional care team!

The position includes working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team providing care and support for children and young adults with life limiting conditions and their families, in a homely environment.

As part of the comprehensive training plan, Trainee Carers will be expected to achieve a National Care Certificate within a three month period and attainment, of our clinical competencies within six months. Upon successful completion of this initial training, Trainee Carers will be promoted to the role of Carer at Naomi House & Jacksplace.

Key tasks include:

  • Providing a high standard of care for referred children, young adults and family members.

  • Actively participating in identifying areas of individual learning, within the Clinical Competency Framework for carers.

  • Working as a member of the multi-disciplinary Care Team, valuing the skills and qualities of all team members; developing skills appropriately. 

  • Holding an awareness of the safety needs of children and families and other staff, and to work within Naomi House & Jacksplace's policies and procedures, guidelines and relevant statutory requirements e.g. Children’s Act.
