What we do
Naomi House and jacksplace is a charity that provides support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
This begins when a child is referred to us, it may be from birth or young childhood, and continues for as long as a family needs us. This support, known as palliative care, includes:
The charity has two hospices at Sutton Scotney, near Winchester. Naomi House , supports children and their familises. jacksplace is a purpose built unit where young adults over the age of 18 visit.
Naomi House first opened in 1987 to support children who were not expected to live to become adults. Since then we have helped nearly 600 families from Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, West Sussex, Surrey and Wiltshire.
In recent years medical advances mean that some children can now be expected to grow up to become young adults which is why we have built jacksplace, our new hospice for young adults.
It costs around £5million a year to run Naomi House and jacksplace. With only 10% of our funding coming from the Department of Health, our work is only possible because of the generous support of the communities we serve.
