Volunteering roles
Retail
Come and volunteer in a charity shop, helping serve customers, operating the till or windowing dressing. Or come along to our warehouse and help sort donated goods, clothing and furniture and items for recycling. Volunteering at the warehouse is a ideal opportunity for a groups wanting to do a team building activity
Fundraising
Be an ambassador for the Hospice by joining a local committee – there are many ways to get involved. You could arrange and attend events from cake stalls to black tie balls, put up posters and publicity information, or act as a marshal at a major event such as a sponsored walk. You could give talks to supporter groups, or collect donations on behalf of the Trust. Your chance to meet lots of people and use your networking skills
Tours guiding
Meet and greet donors and supporters and then take them on an informative guided tour of the Hospice. A great way to promote the work of Naomi House and use your people skills.
Offices and Administration
Work as a receptionist, greeting visitors and receiving phone calls. Or help co-ordinate major mailshots or maintain our donors’ database. Help in our Finance function where we count and bank all the donations
Gardening
Help maintain our beautiful gardens all year round. A great opportunity for a group to get some fresh air and another super team building activity
Kitchen
Work with our busy kitchen team helping to prepare lunches and evening meals for children and families who are visiting the Hospice for a short break. It’s the centre of the House and it’s always a popular place
Housekeeping
Help us keep Naomi House a house we can be proud of! There’s always plenty of ironing and fixing and mending
Leisure and Play activities
There are a range of activities in the Hospice every day from arts and crafts, story- telling, music and drama, and the moto is the more mess and noise the better! We work with play therapists, music therapist and art therapists and we also have opportunities for Pets As Therapy PAT Dogs so our four legged friends can be volunteers, too
We also arrange regular outings. Come and accompany a young person so they can get the most from ice skating, go-karting, bowling or theatre trips
Sibling Support
Naomi House supports siblings, too. Help us with trips and activities to support the brothers and sisters of children with life limiting illnesses
Min bus drivers
We always require MIDAS trained drivers for outings and trips for children and for the occasional fundraising event.
Maintenance
Whether you’re a Bob the Builder or a Jim’ll fix it, we need you to help with the day to day jobs around the Hospice.
