SOUTHERN WATER CUSTOMERS GET THE CHANCE TO WIN CHILDREN’S HOSPICE LOTTERY

Hampshire’s Southern Water customers have had the chance to be a £1000 lottery winner and help their local children’s hospice when they received their annual water bills.

Southern Water, based in Worthing, choose to support Naomi House children’s hospice by giving their customers the opportunity to sign up to the lottery by including a Naomi House lottery leaflet with every bill that was sent out in February this year. This means around 520,000 homes across Hampshire have had the opportunity to hear about the hospice and its vital work.

Since the launch of this initiative in February, Naomi House has already signed up around 485 new memberships and as a direct result have raised £11,470. Joining the Naomi House lottery couldn’t be simpler. For just £1 per week, members are in with a chance of winning the top prize of £1000 or one of the 19 runner-up prizes ranging from £100 to £5.

Naomi House children’s hospice lottery was launched in 2006 and now boasts nearly 14575 members who have raised a whopping £944,136 for the hospice.

Emma Willshire, Corporate Fundraiser at Naomi House said, “We are over the moon that Southern Water choose to support us in this way. By sending our lottery leaflet to such a vast number of people, it has not only raised the profile of Naomi House but also raised much needed funds. We wouldn’t have had the resources ourselves to do this so Southern Water’s help was invaluable.”

Southern Water Director of Communications Geoff Loader said: “We’re delighted so many people have already signed up to the Naomi House lottery. Having learnt about the brilliant work of the hospice, I can assure customers their donations are being put to good use.”
