Refer a Child to Naomi House
Music therapy sessions take place each week
Children with a life limiting or life threatening condition can be referred to Naomi House, where we offer care and support to the whole family.
Each child will need to meet our referral criteria, which have been drawn up in consultation with healthcare professionals. This is essentially a list of a range of conditions that are recognised as life-limiting within the health sector.
However, because so many of the conditions are extremely rare we have a flexible approach and we assess each child/their condition individually.
To make an assessment we take into account the needs of the child and our ability to meet those specific needs. This is done in consultation with the family, our own doctors and, where appropriate, other healthcare professionals including hospital consultants. This activity follows a formal process and can take a few weeks to complete.
If a child only becomes known to us at the end of their life we can fast track our referral process, so that we can accept the child as soon as possible.
