Naomi House children's hospice
Naomi House children's hospice
Naomi House offers lots of different and fun opportunities for play and activities to children up to the age of 18 with a wide range of needs and abilities.
This includes access to a hydrotherapy pool or spa complete with coloured lights and music which can be used for both physiotherapy and fun. Family members are often able to join in making this a fun activity for all.
Our multi-sensory room is very popular; it has coloured lights, projected images textures and sounds to stimulate or soothe. All of the activity and play areas at Naomi House are accessible and colourful providing opportunities for art, craft, scalextrix, dressing up and messy play.
IT equipment is available for the techno minded. We have a full range of games consoles including the Wii, X Box 360 and of course the Playstation 3. There are lots of story books and willing story tellers for those wanting a quieter life.
Often themed weekends including pirates, food, and beach parties take placeat the hospice as well as activities arranged around the main festivals and seasons. We also have occasional visits from magicians, circus performers, petting zoo’s and theatre groups.
Sometimes we arrange outings for the children. All venues are fully risk assessed and consent is always obtained before the outings take place. Outings range from a walk to the shops to visiting attractions including the Sea Life Centre, the cinema, a trip to the zoo or the beach.
We always welcome ideas of new things to do and see with the children so let us know your favourites.
