The butterfly suite is the end of life facility at Naomi House
The death of a child is a very traumatic experience. Here at Naomi House we offer families support to help them get through this difficult time. We have a family support team on hand who will be available to families at the end of their child's life and beyond, for as long as the family wishes our support to continue.
The butterfly room at Naomi House
Here at Naomi House we have a purpose built end of life suite, called the butterfly room. This special room is chilled so that a child may stay in the room until their funeral. It is just like a bedroom at home, with comfy furniture, pictures and a window out that looks out onto the quiet garden. Families can add their own touches to the room by bringing in momentos and precious items from home that are important to them and their child.
Next door to the bedroom is a small lounge where families can have privacy and receive visitors. There are doors out to the private remembrance garden. This is a lovely area for families to have quiet times to themselves.

The family support team can assist the family with funeral arrangements and our chaplain is on hand to help them plan the service. Sometimes families choose to hold a celebration of their child's life here at Naomi House. These very personal events are usually held in the Dovecote which is a lovely room with stained glass windows. We can arrange displays of photos and artwork if the family wish.
