AXA Winterthur Wealth Management – formerly Winterthur Life - selected Naomi House as its ‘charity of the year’ for three years from 2006 to 2008.
During this time, staff at the company, whose head office is located in Basingstoke, organised a host of fundraising activities including an ‘It’s a Knockout’ style event, sponsored walk, quiz nights, raffles, football tournaments and swimarathons. Staff also held a ‘Naomi Day’ which included book sales, a ‘name the baby’ contest and even a doughnut eating competition!
A team of employees took on a couple of really big challenges during this time, conquering Ben Nevis and reaching the peak of Ireland’s highest mountain, Carrauntoohill. Helping out in our gardens, the warehouse or the Winchester shop also proved great fun for staff and our own regular volunteers.
All these events were in addition to regular casual dress day contributions and staff donations given direct from salary using the Give As You Earn scheme.
Following three years of fundraising, Naomi House received a cheque for £100,000, thanks to the generous staff from AXA Winterthur Wealth Management.
