Naomi House creates exciting new volunteering position

Naomi House has launched an exciting new volunteering role within the hospice called the Bed and Breakfast club. The new role will see volunteers working alongside the care team and supporting them in looking after the children and young adults during the morning and in the evening.
This fantastic new role provides volunteers with a unique chance to work within both Naomi House and jacksplace with the children and young adults. The role is extremely varied from day-to-day, one day it could mean assisting with an arts ‘n’ crafts and another it may mean watching a film or playing a board game with the children and young adults. The opportunity is perfect for anyone seeking a rewarding, hands-on volunteering role that is great fun!
The first training session has already taken place and offered volunteers an insight into the role and how they will be supporting the care team. The training covered a range of subjects and there was an opportunity for any questions about the role to be answered. It was an extremely successful afternoon with many volunteers commenting they felt well informed and very positive about beginning the new role.
Lucy Butcher is the volunteer services manager at Naomi House and is recruiting for the role. She said, “The B & B club is a new role that means the nurses and carers can have some extra help around the mealtimes with some of the children and young people. It’s a great role for the volunteers and one that we are really excited about”.
If you are interested in being a B&B volunteer and are available weekdays from 8am – 11.00am, or 6.00pm – 9.00pm, then please do get in touch.
We are always actively recruiting for a variety of different volunteering roles so we always want to hear from you!
