The winning team in the Basingstoke shop!
20 very keen and enthusiastic Symantec employees recently volunteered for the second year running to participate in one of our corporate team challenges, raising in excess of £10,000 through our fun “Store Wars” competition.
“Store Wars” is part of our portfolio of fun team building challenges, whereby teams take over our network of shops, to see who can make the most money in a day’s trading. Reminiscent of The Apprentice, employees used cake baking, Royal Family fancy dress and Diamond Jubilee themed shop windows to pull in the crowds and beat their competition. As a result of the teams creativity and hard work to raise funds, Symantec UK Ltd has also been voted by us as a finalist in our Team Challenge of the Year category for Store Wars.
Despite close-fought competition in Andover and Winchester, the winning shop was Basingstoke, where team members Sam Liddeatt, Jamie Douglas, Ben Bailey, Ashley Brinsford, Michelle Brown, Steve Bowman, Ellie Drennan and Marie Foley raised over £6,900 in just one day!

This year’s Store Wars challenge was absolutely amazing and each of the teams did so well. The Basingstoke team managed to bring in the most money ever raised in one day and go to the top of our Store Wars leader board.”

Matt Ellard, executive sponsor for the UK Charity Committee at Symantec, said: “The success of this year’s Store Wars and the staggering amount of money the teams raised for Naomi House is a true reflection of our employees commitment to supporting local charities. Each team took great pride in making the day a real success and that enthusiasm was infectious. Symantec is incredibly proud of the work and money that was raised and we look forward to defending our position at the top of league table next year!”
