Sematron raise over £10,000 for Naomi House
Mission accomplished!
During that time enthusiastic staff have organised a variety of fundraising events including a charity dinner, quiz night, an 80s evening, sponsored runs and, in 2010, a team of intrepid climbers completed the Three Peaks Challenge. 2011 is a significant year for Managing Director, John O’Brien and his team, as it’s exactly twenty years since the company was founded on 2nd April 1990.
To celebrate their anniversary, the Sematron team are hoping to raise even more money for Naomi House and jacksplace and have set themselves a challenge to complete a gruelling 60 mile trek across the South Downs Way starting in Petersfield and ending in Brighton, in less than 30 hours!
The distance and elevation of the walk that the team members have to complete is equivalent to two and a half marathons and climbing Ben Nevis and Snowdon. It was originally started by the Queens Ghurkha Signals Regiment over 30 years ago as a training exercise to test soldiers’ stamina and teamwork skills.
We’d like to congratulate everyone at Sematron on their 21st birthday and wish them every success with this year’s challenge. A huge thank you for your continuing support – we really appreciate it!
