Salisbury FC Show their Support to Naomi House

salisbury Football Club

salisbury Football Club

Naomi House is very pleased to announce that Salisbury City Football Club has decided to support the cause as its chosen charity of the football season 2011–2012.

The players made a visit to the children’s hospice last week to see the facilities and understand how the charity supports life-limited children, young adults and their families across the Wessex Region. The visit was an opportunity to meet some of the children and young people who use the unique hospice facilities and gave them a chance to join in some of the activities organised during the afternoon. For many it was their first attempt at baking, putting their creative talents to work in decorating biscuits for the children and their families visiting the hospice for respite care.

Geoff Cain, Commercial Director with the Club, explained the importance of the visit: “The visit helped the lads to understand more about the charity and its work to support life-limited children and young people from across central Southern England. They were all amazed at the fantastic facilities and the limited public sector funding received. All the lads enjoyed the visit and we are planning a further visit shortly in the period leading up to Christmas as a treat for children visiting the hospice during December. The Club is pleased to be working alongside such a worthwhile local charity and we have donated some signed club merchandise for Naomi House to help raise additional funds. We look forward to working with the children and staff at Naomi House over the coming year”.

Pam Bacon, community fundraiser for Naomi House said: “This is fantastic news for Naomi House to have the support of a local football club. The players welcomed the opportunity to visit the hospice to spend time with the life-limited children and families who use our unique facilities. We are currently giving Salisbury residents the opportunity to win the signed FA Cup match ball used in the successful match against Arlesey last month, which has been donated by the Club. Anyone interested can pop along to our charity shop in the Maltings and enter the competition to win the coveted signed football in exchange for small donation. We are very much looking forward to developing our partnership with the Club during the current football season”.
