Reeves visit by the Dymotts
The Dymott family and staff at Reeve's Bakery in Wilton
Naomi House boys Ben and Luke Dymott were lucky enough to visit Reeve’s Bakery in Wilton and make some special Mother’s Day cookies for their mum Jeanette.
Ben and Luke, who are both frequent visitors at the hospice, were given a tour of the bakery and shown how the hand baked goods are freshly prepared each day. The highlight of the visit was when Managing Director Gary Reeve helped the boys to make gingerbread men and scones and they thoroughly enjoyed decorating some cookies with coloured icing and sweets as a special surprise for their mum. Ben, who loves baking, made the most of the experience to practise his culinary skills. He enthused: “It’s great to be able to see how the professionals do it and I really liked making something unusual for Mum for Mother’s Day”.
Reeve the Baker are active supporters of Naomi House and the family’s visit to the bakery was a fitting finale to this year’s Doughnut Week. Reeves have donated 10p for every doughnut sold and all the money raised this year will be used to help fund the hydrotherapy facilities at the hospice. Gary Reeve commented: “We were so pleased to be able to welcome Ben and Luke to the bakery and to give a Naomi House family the opportunity to do something they wouldn’t normally do. We would like to thank all our customers and staff for making Doughnut Week such a success. We have raised £3,300 to help run the hydrotherapy pool, which is a fantastic achievement”. Tina Starbuck, Corporate Fundraiser for Naomi House was very grateful for the donation and added: “With less than 10% of our income coming from the Government, we rely almost entirely on the generosity of local companies like Reeve the Baker and I would like to thank them for their continued support”.
