Winchester Mayor, Councillor Barry Lipscombe, paid an official visit to Naomi House Children’s Hospice in Sutton Scotney on Monday to meet children, parents and volunteers. In the two hour visit, the Mayor met and spoke to all the children staying in Naomi House, toured the hospice and paid tribute to the volunteer gardeners working in the heat wave.

Professor Khalid Aziz, chairman of Naomi House, showed the mayor around the hospice and informed him of the charity’s ongoing struggle to get funding from the health authorities in Hampshire.
Councillor Lipscombe praised the work of Naomi House and said,” The Mayoress and I, already familiar with Naomi House, have again been so impressed by the excellent care that every member of the team gives to your children and their families. The facilities are superb. Well done and thank you”.
