Christmas Delight for Naomi House
Load the Lorry at Tesco's Salisbury
Naomi House Children’s Hospice received a welcome early Christmas present from shoppers at Tesco on Southampton Road following their recent Load the Lorry initiative.
Steve Magers, community champion at the store, organised the 2nd annual Load the Lorry initiative from 25th – 27th November, which seeks the support of shoppers to consider people less fortunate than themselves during the festive Christmas period.
Naomi House did fantastically well from this years’ event, receiving over 30 bagfuls of donated second-hand goods to sell in their new Salisbury shop and a great selection of new toys/games that will be given to children and young people visiting the hospice for respite care during December. The picture shows just a small selection of the new toys/games donated to the charity.
Pam Bacon, community fundraiser at Naomi House, said “We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of local residents who dug deep to support terminally ill children visiting Naomi House and jacksplace. I know there will be many surprised, happy children when they receive extra gifts from Father Christmas, who regularly visits Naomi House. Thanks also go to Steve Magers at Tesco who organised this initiative again”.
The Load the Lorry initiative supports two local charities: Naomi House and the Trussell Trust - Salisbury’s local food bank. For further information about Naomi House please telephone and speak to Pam Bacon on 01962 843513. We welcome volunteers and donated goods into our Salisbury shop at any time during opening hours.
