Piggin’ wellies for Naomi House!
Local companies on Hartley Business Park Farm have come up with a fun way to raise money this spring. Hartley Business Park Farm, based in Selborne are making Saturday 29th May their ‘Wear Your Wellies’ day to raise funds for Naomi House children’s hospice. Wear your Wellies is a fun and novel way for the community to raise money for a local cause by paying to wear their brightest wellies, organising a welly throwing competition or even decorating their wellies! Staff and visitors to the park will be digging out their Wellies....including one purple pig !
Herbi4 Pottery based on the Business Park have come up with an interesting way of raising funds. A life size ceramic purple pig in wellies, sculptured by hand will be on show all day in the Lavender Courtyard. Visitors will be able to guess the name of the pig for a chance of winning £100. The funds raised and the pig will then be donated to Naomi House to be used at various events.
Carolyn Wood from Hartley Business Park said “This is a great opportunity to support a very worthwhile cause and have some fun at the same time. I hope the local community will visit us on the day”
Entry to the park is free and visitors can get involved in a welly throwing competition, wine tasting and chilli sauce sampling. There is also fun for children, including a bouncy castle and face painting. If visitors come along in there wellies they will also receive a discount at any of the businesses on the park.
Emma Willshire, Corporate Fundraiser at Naomi House said “It is such a fun idea; we are so pleased with the finished piece! Our thanks go to John and Rob at Herbi4 for coming up with the idea and for all their hard work. We are sure the day will be a great success and we encourage everyone to go along to visit the ‘Purple Pig’. It is events like this that enable us to continue our work, and support life limited children from across central southern England.”
