A Thousand Fundraisers On Clarendon Way Walk
On Sunday 5th June, hundreds of fundraisers walked the 26 miles between Winchester and Salisbury for Naomi House children’s hospice, with hundreds more joining them halfway. Over £100,000 has been pledged in sponsorship money.
This marked the fifth anniversary of one of Naomi House’s most popular fundraising events, Clarendon Way Walk. Fundraisers had the choice of walking either a 26 or 12 mile route through the countryside, across the Test Valley to Salisbury Cathedral. The walkers battled the wet weather and arrived drenched at the finish line in Salisbury still in high spirits! Christopher Pullen, a participant, said, “It was the first time I have ever done a long distance walk; I was proud of myself to have completed the whole 26 miles, but also challenging myself to do the event...I feel really privileged to have joined a wonderful charity event to raise money for such amazing children.”
Naomi House and jacksplace provide support to life-limited children and their families across central southern England. Supporters who take part in these type of fundraising events contribute to the £5 million needed to keep Naomi House running each year.
