Naomi House Children’s Hospice is blazing a birthday trail across Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, Wiltshire and West Sussex to kick off 2007 – its 10th anniversary year.
To commemorate a decade of caring for terminally ill children and their families, hospice supporters are lighting a chain of the biggest birthday candles they can find by lighting up the entire region with a series of beacons at 6pm on Saturday 20 January.
“With 10 years’ expertise and experience, Naomi House has become a centre of excellence - a beacon - in the care and support of terminally ill youngsters and their families, so these events are a great way to mark the start of this milestone year,” says Chief Executive Ray Kipling.
“Naomi House is very much part of the community. It was built and funded by local people for local families to use free of charge and we welcomed our first child to stay on 27 July 1997. With beacons being lit right across our region, we are putting the community right at the heart of our anniversary activities.”
