Reeve the Baker is donating 10p to Naomi House Children’s Hospice for every jam doughnut they sell between 29 January and 3 February 2007.
Last year’s Doughnut week saw 24,000 sugary snacks sold in aid of charity by Reeve the Baker, which has nine stores including Salisbury, Wilton, Shaftesbury, Amesbury and Warminster.
To ensure that the doughnuts met their high standards, children and staff at Naomi House enjoyed a taste test. Brad Burgess is pictured here (centre) conducting some quality control with Corporate Fundraiser, Helen Lovell and Sarah Cooper, Miranda Kelly and Rachel Clarke from Naomi House’s Care Team.
“We all thoroughly enjoyed eating our doughnuts and will be rushing to buy more during Doughnut week. They were very fresh and had lots of jam in them which is essential!” said Helen Lovell.
Reeve the Baker has been supporting Naomi House Children’s Hospice since 1999. In 2006 they raised £2,500 during Reeve’s Ramble, its annual sponsored walk which went towards funding part of Naomi House’s music therapy with Poet Philip Wells. Philip uses the rhythm of drums, feet or hands, as well as poetry to reach every child regardless of their level of understanding. Philip also spends time with the more able children encouraging them to write their own poetry.
Please help Naomi House beat the 24000 jam doughnuts sold last year by visiting your local Reeve the Baker store during Doughnut Week taking place from 29 January. With your help we can be there for the good days, the difficult days and the last days.
