Frogmore Leaps into Action to Celebrate a Special Birthday

The Naomi House shop has been a familiar part of the high street in Cosham, providing an affordable and interesting array of goods, for the past decade. Frogmore the frog, the mascot from Pompey Football Club, dropped in to make a donation. Frogmore was accompanied by Gary Owers, the Community Manager for the Club. “Community involvement is a significant activity for Pompey FC, and the club is delighted to be able to support such an important cause as Naomi House” said Gary.

A donation was made by Frogmore to the Naomi House shop where Jamie Connelly-Burnett and his mum were on hand to receive the bundle of goodies that will be put on sale in Cosham and other Naomi House shops in the region. Jamie’s family is one of over 220 families that visit Naomi House. “Naomi House is a wonderful place, where Jamie’s needs are the first priority to the team there. The team at Naomi House make us feel so welcome and it makes a big difference to the whole family knowing that they understand the special needs Jamie has” Judith explained.

Jamie and Frogmore continued the celebration by cutting a special birthday cake to mark the occasion.

The volunteers and staff who work in the shop were also taking part in the celebrations, many of whom have been actively involved at the shop for several years and play a vital part in its success. Sally Anderson, Trading Manager for Naomi House expressed her thanks for their help and the support of their customers. “The shop is a hive of activity and we are really grateful for the support we receive from the local community. Every week the shop sells around £2,000 worth of items and the proceeds are used to enable Naomi House to continue caring for children with life-limiting illnesses” Sally said.
