These 1280 boots were made for walking!

On 8th June more than 640 people took part in the second Clarendon Way Walk, across the beautiful countryside between Winchester and Salisbury Catherdrals.

On a beautiful summer's day the walkers set off in the bright June sunshine, to complete the 26 miles following a historic route.   The walkers were from across the region and of all ages completed the walk, a good number of four legged friends managed it too!  Amongst the participants was 10 year old, wheelchair-bound, Reece Staines, who despite suffering from cerebral palsy, was determined to help raise money for Naomi House, where he is a regular visitor.  Reece said "Grandpa will push me up the hills and I will pull him down".  Reece is hoping to complete the 12 mile route escorted by Army volunteers.

The walk was kindly supported by many local businesses, including Knight Frank and Hildon Water.  Soldiers from Winchester Army Training Regiment marshalled the entire 26 miles to ensure that all walkers reached their destination safely.

The day was a huge success.  We are still adding up the final total sponsorship that the Walk has raised for Naomi House, but we are hoping it will exceed £60,000.  That's an amazing total and our thanks go out to all our walkers their sponsors and the organisations that made the walk possible.
