Leave a Legacy

A gift in your Will … help make short lives special

Leaving a legacy to Naomi House is a very special way to help us care for families in the future. This generosity helps to safeguard our services for hundreds of families across central southern England.

Safeguard our services

You can include Naomi House when you make your Will or if you have a Will already, then you can do this by adding a codicil (an addition) to it.

There are different kinds of gift you can leave in your Will. The most common are described below:

  • Making a residual gift is perhaps the simplest form of giving. After you have remembered your friends and family you may chose to leave a part or all of what is left from your Estate (the residue) to a charity.
  • A pecuniary gift allows you to leave a fixed sum of money in your Will to your favourite cause, however, remember over a long period of time the value of your gift will decrease as the cost of living increases.

Alternatively, you may prefer to leave a specific item in your Will, for example, a piece of jewellery, land or property, shares or bonds. In all cases please consult a solicitor who can advise you of all your options and associated tax benefits.

Building blocks for the future

Our £12 million appeal, jacksplace@naomihouse, to build, equip and run a new building to provide hospice care for young people began because of an amazing £6 million legacy from Southampton businessman, Jack Witham.

Leaving a gift in your Will to Naomi House, like Jack did, is one of the best ways to ensure that the hospice can continue its vital work in providing care for children and their families affected by life-limiting illnesses.
