Southampton Youth Orchestra

The Rotary Club of Southampton Magna proudly presents a Charity Concert in Winchester Cathedral on Saturday 6th September 2008 at 7:30pm, in suppport of Naomi House Children's Hospice and other Rotary charities.

Formed over 40 years ago the Southampton Youth Orchestra has gained a reputation as one of the country's finest city youth orchestra's. With about 80 young people aged between 15 and 18 playing regularly, the orchestra performs several public concerts a year.  They have performed at the Royal Albert Hall and the Royal Festival Hall.  In 2006 they travelled to Poland and the Island of Ischia at the estate of Lady Walton in 2007, and in 2008 the orchestra will be playing in Vienna.
